What is the difference between total carbs and net carbs? Which should I count?

Total carbs are all carbs in food (sugar and fiber). Net carbs is a calculation of the total carbohydrate amount measured in grams minus the fiber (Total carbs - fiber = net carbs). Although fiber is a type of carbohydrate, your body doesn’t digest it - this means you don’t need to include it into your carb limit calculations.
