The easiest and most convenient way to tell if you’re in ketosis or not is to use a ketone test strip. While keto strips can show when you've made the switch to nutritional ketosis, they don't accurately show your ketone levels . A pink or purple color always indicates that your body is making ketones. But if you show a darker color, it could just mean you’re dehydrated and the ketone levels in your urine are more concentrated as a result. You can also use a blood meter or a breath meter, however using a keto strip is generally the easiest and cheapest method. See “How can I measure ketones?”
