What is keto-adaptation?

Keto-adaptation (aka fat adaptation) is when your body becomes efficient at using fat, instead of glucose, for energy [1]. It means your body has had enough time to adjust to a new primary fuel source -- fat. The physical adaptations to ketosis involve the whole body, but the major adaptations occur in the brain, liver, kidney and muscles. Your body will take a few weeks to use become fully keto-adapted and use ketones in the most efficient way possible.
